We are honored to be able to arrange a private tour of the remarkable artist Angela Damman´s studio, which is not open to the public.  Angela´s work is the creation of highly artisanal and original pieces using the Henequen plants which are native to the Yucatan.  Their story is a long one, but Angela has reimagined it, using the traditional techniques in modern interpretations, whilst supporting the continuation of traditional processing, dyeing and weaving techniques.  Her project supports over 60 women in the surrounding communities – not only economically but enabling the continuation of their artistic heritage.  Part of the over 6,000 Henequen plants which we grow here at Quinta Kookix were our housewarming gift from Angela and her husband Scott.  They, like we, believe that this is one of the most special places on the planet to be able to live, and that our contributions to our communities are very important.
