Experience at Quinta Kookix

Marisol Gomez Añil Atelier

We are pleased to offer a private indigo atelier experience with Master Dyer Marisol Gómez, an accomplished textile artist whose practice honors the ancient art of tie-dye using natural añil dye on fine cotton manta fabric. Sourced from jiquilite, a native shrub in the indigo family that grows at Quinta Kookix, añil yields an exquisite, deeply nuanced blue with historic ties to Maya Blue, the storied pigment still visible on ancient Maya structures. In this intimate, by-arrangement workshop, guests are personally guided by Marisol through a considered creative ritual, resulting in a singular bespoke piece that cannot be replicated.

Prior to arrival, each guest may select a preferred foundation piece, including a caftan, tunic, cotton Tshirt, or placemats, allowing every detail to be prepared with intention. For the most complete expression of the experience, we recommend a morning atelier followed by a private dinner at Quinta Kookix, thoughtfully composed around the setting and the piece created that day. Advance reservations are required, and each workshop is offered exclusively subject to Marisol Gómez’s availability.
